Seminole soon to tap into St. Johns River for water needs

Seminole County soon will begin drawing 1 million gallons of water a day from the St. Johns River in a controversial move that has raised concerns about the impact on the river's ecosystem.

County officials said residents could be using the river water to irrigate their lawns and plants by March. But it will be some time before river water can flow from their kitchen faucets.
