Citizen science volunteer opportunities on Seminole County waterways
Volunteers are needed for two projects this summer:
Freshwater Algae Survey
Volunteers are needed to assist with a monthly algae survey conducted at various stations in the Wekiva River! Help collect, clean, and weigh algae samples;
training provided. Walking or paddling will be necessary to access sites. Sampling will occur on 3rd Saturday of the month, & some Wednesdays. RSVP

Freshwater Turtle Survey
July 20–26, 2018: Help the North American Freshwater Turtle Research Group (NAFTRG) survey the turtles of the Wekiva River and Rock Springs Run!
4 to 6 volunteers are needed to assist each day (some evenings) with turtle collection and canoeing. RSVP required (serv@seminolecountyfl.gov; 407-665-2457); SERV can connect volunteers with NAFTRG. For more details of volunteer tasks, visit the NAFTRG website.
