Dorian update from Seminole County Emergency Management

DORIAN UPDATE: SEMINOLE COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT

SEMINOLE COUNTY – The Seminole County Emergency Operations Center is activated in anticipation of impacts from Dorian. A tentative press conference is scheduled for Friday, August 28, at 1:30pm at the Seminole County Public Safety Building Community Room (150 Eslinger Way, Sanford).

SANDBAGS:

Seminole County opened sandbag operations for residents beginning at noon on today at the Boombah Seminole County Sports Complex. Additional locations will be open on Thursday. Residents will be provided a maximum of 15 sandbags. Residents should bring their own shovels, and provide their own labor. ANIMAL SERVICES:

Seminole County’s animal shelter is full; residents looking to adopt a dog or cat may do so for FREE today through Saturday, August 31st. A list of adoptable animals can be viewed at www.seminolecountypets.com.

CITIZENS INFORMATION LINE

The Seminole County Citizens Information Line will be activated beginning at 7:00am on Thursday, August 29, 2019. The CIL will be open to take residents’ storm-related questions from 7:00am-7:00pm. Residents can register for storm-related text alerts by texting “DORIAN” to 888-777.

The following facilities will be closed Thursday, August 29th and Friday, August 30th:
