Crystal Chain of Lakes HSPF model peer review – initial findings

The St. Johns River Water Management District will hold a public teleconference on Jan. 12 as part of the peer review process for the surface water model developed to support establishing protective minimum levels for East and West Crystal Lakes in Seminole County, FL.

At this meeting, the model peer reviewer will present initial findings as part of the District’s review of the Crystal Chain of Lakes HSPF surface water model. This model review is part of the larger effort to establish protective minimum levels for East and West Crystal Lakes. The purpose of establishing minimum levels is to protect these lakes from significant harm due to groundwater withdrawals. East and West Crystal Lakes are located within the Central Florida Water Initiative (CFWI) area.
